The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has announced a pleasing news for the residents of the metropolitan city and its tourists. It announced the aim of establishing 110.8 km of new metro lines until the end of 2018, bringing the total number of metro lines to 271.3 km. The two parts of the city, the European and Asian, which will clearly reflect the increase in the value of Istanbul properties offered for sale.
The municipality announced that its next target in this framework is to reach 355.45 km in 2018-2019 and reach 1100km after 2023.
The municipality is completing the second phase of the Uskudar-Umraniya- Cekmekoy -Sancak Tepe metro line as well as the completion of the metro line linking the Mecidiyekoy- Alibeykoy areas, the metro line connecting the Dudullo- Bostanci, Bostanci-Imas, and the Tramway line connecting the Eminonu and Alibeykoy areas; the second phase of the Marmaray subcontinental line, which will link Istanbul with the European city of Gepze in Asia.
The Municipality also aims to establish 8 cable cars (Teleferik) between 2018 and 2019 on both sides of the city.
